Ten years imprisonment for two accused in the robbery case, fine of 25,000 to 25,000 rupees

News2News.in News. Yamunanagar: The two suspects in the robbery case were sentenced by the court to ten years in prison and a fine of 25,000 rupees each. The court imposed additional penalties on both defendants for failure to pay the fine.

Pargat Singh, a resident of the village of Majitha in Punjab, reportedly told police in a complaint on September 9, 2018 that he drove a truck to the Tajewala mining zone in Yamunanagar to collect mining materials. Meanwhile, some youths attacked Tajewala nearby, breaking the truck’s glass. After that, the accused stole 28,000 rupees and documents from him by showing fear of knives and fled the place.

At that time, the police of Pratapnagar registered a case of robbery against the unknown person on the complaint of the victim Pargat Singh and initiated the investigation. When the police received concrete evidence during the investigation, they arrested Sufiyan, a resident of Raipur, and Salman, a resident of Pipli Majra, and brought them before the court. The case was heard in the Additional Sessions Judge Court for approximately four years. After hearing the case, the court found both the accused Salman and Sufiyan guilty and sentenced them to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 each.
