Gohana/Sonipat: A cyber thug pretending to be an employee of LIC spoke to a girl from Dhanana village on mobile phone. The cybercriminal told him that money needed to be deposited into his father’s account in the name of LIC. The girl fell into his trap and started receiving messages on her cell phone. He was then cheated of Rs 90,000. The cybercriminal tricked the girl into transferring money to her account. The victim lodged a complaint at the Baroda police station and got a case registered against the accused.

Kareena from Dhanana village said that someone called her. He said that he had spoken to LIC. The person told Kareena that he spoke to his father after which he speaks to you. This person sent a message on his mobile saying that first a thousand rupees and then 30,000 rupees were transferred to his father’s account. After that, he said that this money came by mistake, please return it. The cybercriminal repeatedly told him about accidentally depositing the money. Kareena believed him. Rs 90,000 was transferred by him five times, but no money came into his account after receiving the message. The girl transferred five thousand rupees to her account and the remaining money from her father’s account. After discovering the fraud, he filed a police report online. At the same time, he also reached the police station and filed a complaint. The police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
