Sonipat: Five accused convicted of shooting and killing a young man, three sentenced to life imprisonment

Sonipat: The court convicted five accused involved in the murder of a young man by firing at him in Charchoda police station area. Additional District and Sessions Court Justice Vimal Sapra sentenced three convicts to life imprisonment in the murder case and three to two years imprisonment under the Illegal Arms Act. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 32,000 each on two offenders, Rs 25,000 on one and Rs 2,000 each on two others. If the fine is not paid, the perpetrators face additional penalties.

Tekram, a resident of Matindu village, had told Kharkhoda police station on December 14, 2019 that his son Deepak would give food to the workers in the fields. Then Deepak was shot dead. He had accused Sandeep, a resident of Thana Kalan, of murder, who had a rivalry with Deepak’s partner Pradeep. His allegation was that Pradeep from the village had a fight with Sandeep from Thana Kalan village four months ago. On the day of the incident, his son was riding the bike with Pradeep. Then his son was killed by motorists in the village’s fields. The police had registered a case about this. Later, the investigation was handed over to CIA Charchoda. Then, the team of investigating officer, then SI Yogendra Singh, had arrested Ravi and Ajay, residents of Chaulka village, Yogesh and Virendra alias Bindra of Bhainswal village, Sandeep of Khanda village and Nitin of Jatwara in the case.

Police investigation revealed that Pradeep had an altercation with Sandeep’s family. After that, he began to harbor a grudge against her. The then investigating officer Yogendra Singh had said that investigations revealed that Pradeep’s partner Deepak was shot dead in the field. All the accused were produced before the court. After hearing the case, ASJ Vimal Sapra on Saturday convicted Ravi, a resident of Chaulka, Nitin, a resident of Jatwada and Sandeep, a resident of Thana Kalan, guilty in the murder case. Ravi and Nitin were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 32,000 each under the Murder and Arms Act. Sandeep was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 25,000 for murder. Additionally, Yogesh and Virendra alias Bindra were sentenced to three years imprisonment and a fine of two thousand rupees each under the Illegal Weapons Act.
