Sonipat: After a rape case was registered, he demanded 7 lakhs in the name of a compromise and was arrested in the act

Sonipat: After registering a rape case, the defendant demanded 7 lakh rupees on the pretext of compromising. The Badi police station has initiated proceedings against four people, including the woman who reported the rape to the friend of the accused. While the police pursued the case, they arrested the three suspects in the act and took the money. Those arrested include two women and their partner Ishwar, a resident of Lalhedi village. The police are investigating the matter.

On May 5, a woman lodged a complaint with the Badi Industrial Zone Police Station, accusing the youth Dinesh of raping her. The police had registered a case of rape against the accused Dinesh. Afterwards, on Sunday, Dinesh’s friend Vijay from Lalhedi village, who works as a street sweeper in Badi Industrial Zone, complained to Badi Police Station that Badi Police Station had registered a false case of rape against his friend Dinesh. He said the victim and her three other accomplices registered this case as part of a well-planned conspiracy to extort money from their friend. Vijay claimed his aides demanded 7 lakh rupees from the woman to settle the rape case registered against Dinesh. As a result of the complaint, the police in the large industrial area immediately launched a case against four people, including two women.

Three defendants were arrested with 3 lakh rupees

After registering the case, ACP Gorakh Pal assembled the Gannaur Crime Unit team to apprehend the accused. He himself led the team. Thereafter the accused called the complainant Vijay to Sonepat to pay Rs. The team wrote down the figures of Rs.3 lakh rupees and had them delivered to the accused through Vijay. The police then arrested the three suspects red-handed along with the money on the spot. Two women and their colleague Ishwar, a resident of the village of Lalhedi, were among those arrested. The accused had already collected 50,000 rupees.
