Sirsa: The accused in the theft case escaped police custody. Police chased him, but he disappeared. On the complaint of EASI Surjeet Singh, a case was registered against the accused at Civil Line Sirsa police station.

EASI Surjeet Singh of Rodi police station said that the accused in the theft case registered at Rodi police station on November 25, Vachitra Singh alias Deep, resident of Suroh Rajpura (Punjab), would be produced before the court in Sirsa after obtaining a judicial arrest warrant to house him in the county jail. . The accused had to sit in the back seat of his private car while home guard Buta Singh held the hand of the accused and he himself drove the car to reach the district jail. As they turned the car near the jail and went inside, the accused Vachitra Singh freed himself from the home guard, jumped out of the moving car and ran away. As the accused was being chased in the car, Vachitra Singh managed to escape through the bushes of Ira Group by jumping over the wall on the other side of the road. The police dispatch center was tipped off to search for him and every effort was made to locate him, but nothing was found. In the complaint, apart from the escape of the accused Vachitra Singh from police custody, a complaint was also lodged against the home guard Buta Singh for negligence. The Civil Line Sirsa police have registered a case against Vachitra Singh and home guard Buta Singh and have initiated an investigation.
