Sirsa: A resident of Singhpura village was cheated out of 35 lakh rupees by promising higher interest rates. The victim lodged a complaint against six people at Kalanwali Police Station. Following the victim’s complaint, the police opened an investigation and registered a case against residents of Singhpura village, Gurtej Singh, Balwinder Singh, Simarjit Kaur, Tara Singh, Harbans Kaur and Veerpal Kaur.
Amritdeep Singh said that the above accused had set up a company. These people received a receipt like FD-RT after accepting investments from the general public. I invested this money in the dairy sector and assured myself good interest rates. For this purpose, a date farm project was prepared on an area of 3 hectares in Singhpura village, on which pillars were erected to build sheds, so that the facility could be put into operation in the shortest possible time. Based on this, he was also lured into investing in his company and assured him from his possessions that he has 18 hectares of land in Singhpura village. As a villager, he not only invested his money by entrusting the said defendant, but also had his relatives’ accounts opened with the defendant, in which the defendant pledged to provide the claimant with benefits on the amount due.
He had about 7 FDs done for his relatives and accounts to pay the rest in about 50 installments and from 2014 to 2016 the accused was paid a total of 35 lakh rupees by himself and his relatives and acquaintances. In 2016, the defendants began closing down their said company’s branches, which had been set up in Talwandi Sabo, Kalanwali, Raniya, Sirsa, Kotkapura, etc. When he became suspicious, he demanded money, but the defendant kept evading it. The accused was stern and threatened to kill him. He first filed a complaint with the police, but the police took no action. The complaint was then forwarded to the SP. According to the investigations of the SP, a case has now been registered.
