Sirsa: The Civil Line police station arrested two persons, including the accused mother, for allegedly selling the newborn baby immediately after birth. The accused mother was produced before the court on Wednesday from where she was sent to jail. In this case, Juvenile Justice Board senior judge Ashutosh had on October 13 directed the police to register an FIR against the accused. After this, the police registered a case against six people, including the accused mother Priyanka, and initiated an investigation.
According to the information, Sanjeev Kaushal, a resident of Shiv Nagar Kanganpur Road, had filed Istgasa before the Chief Justice of the Juvenile Justice Board on October 13. In it, Sanjeev Kaushal told that he was married to Priyanka, a resident of Chatargarhpatti, on August 13, 2022. Priyanka’s first marriage was to Farwai Kalan, a resident of Surendra. After Surendra’s death, she married with the consent of both families. Priyanka became pregnant two months after marriage. Sanjeev Kaushal took his wife to the government hospital for check-ups from time to time. Priyanka’s parents demanded money from her from time to time.
Sanjeev often gave money to his in-laws because he thought they were poor. In April 2023, Sanjeev’s brother Gulshan’s health suddenly deteriorated. He took him to a hospital in Gurugram for treatment. The investigation revealed that his brother had cancer. After that, he continued to visit many hospitals to save his brother. Priyanka had an argument with her mother-in-law from behind and went to her maternal home. Sanjeev tried to calm her down but his in-laws forced him out of the house.
While speaking to Priyanka, she told that the delivery took place on July 6, 2023 at Holi Nursing Home. A son was born, the child died after coming home. Sanjeev went to the Holi nursing home to investigate. There he learned that Priyanka’s delivery was normal and both mother and child were healthy. Both were subsequently released. When Sanjeev Kaushal investigated, he came to know that Priyanka along with her in-laws had sold the child claiming it belonged to her first husband. Following this, Sanjeev sent a complaint to the Superintendent of Police on August 17, 2023.
In this case, HUDA outpost in-charge ASI Pradeep Kumar said that the accused woman Priyanka and her mother Seema were arrested by the police and produced before the court. The court sent the accused to custody. Other accused including Priyanka’s brother will soon be arrested in this case. The accused sold the child to a family living in Rajasthan.
