Rewari: Farmers and commission agents taking their crops to the new grain market will have more convenience with the establishment of a new canning shed. Increasing the area of tin sheds on the number one farm of the grain market will protect the coming season’s harvest from rain. The youth shed was prepared by the market committee in about a year.
After approval to expand the youth shed was obtained in September 2022, a cost estimate was prepared and forwarded to the higher-level department. Construction work on the youth shed then began and the pillars were prepared. After the pillars were completed, the work was stopped midway when the Rabi crop arrived. After the arrival of the harvest was stopped, the work began quickly and the tin shed was prepared in 5 months.
The plants are protected from rain
There are tin sheds on three sheds in Anaj Mandi, of which shed number one in front of the Shiva temple of Anaj Mandi is the largest and its scope has been expanded. The tin shed at Phad was expanded by 18 meters in width and 90 meters in length, which cost around Rs 1 crore. During the rainy season, farmers’ grains get wet because they lie in the open in the grain market, but now as the area of tin sheds increases, farmers and traders can store their grains safely.
The columns were finished five months ago
Across the site, two sheds of the new grain market had a tin shed, while shed number one had a tin shed in the middle with plenty of space left all around. On July 10, 2022, the traders had demanded from Sujan Singh, Chief Administrator of the Agricultural Marketing Board, who came to inspect the grain market, to enlarge the tin shed at this Phad, for which the Secretary of the Market Committee prepared the floor plan of the Phad and sent it on September 14 to Chandigarh. On September 20, 2022, the response to the adoption of the work plan for the expansion of the tin shed arrived at the Market Committee office. After we received approval, work began on building the tin shed. The pillars of the youth shed were finished about 5 months ago, now the youth shed will be completely finished in a month.
Two main gates will be ready in a month
The two main gates of Anaj Mandi, the Brass Market side and the Secretariat side, are also being constructed on a grand scale. The construction of these two gates will cost around Rs 18 lakh. 50 percent of the work on a gate has been completed. The main gate was widened to allow two large vehicles to pass easily and two iron gates were installed for entry and exit. There used to be traffic jams during the season due to the narrower gate width. Now the vehicles coming to the grain market will be freed from traffic jams.
