Rewari: As soon as the winter season begins, after the smog, the fog starts to show its effect. Drivers need to be careful on the roads due to poor visibility due to the fog. The administration has not yet made arrangements for white stripes and reflectors on many routes, which has increased the problems faced by motorists. The city’s traffic lights have also been closed for a long time. Due to the fog and the lack of white stripes on the roads, the driver does not even notice the vehicle derailing, which creates the risk of an accident.

There is no white stripe and reflector on Bawal Road in the city. Additionally, white stripes are missing at many places on Circular Road, Delhi Road, Jhajjar Road, Narnaul Road and Mahendragarh Road. Even on the Delhi-Jupur Highway, there are no reflectors at many places on illegal cuttings. Reflectors and white stripes will be required on Anajmandi Road and Circular Road near Brahmagarh, Jhajjar Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Dharuhera Chungi and Naiwali Chowk. The lack of white stripes is not only dangerous, but deep potholes on various roads also pose a risk of accidents. Which will cause problems for drivers as the fog increases. There are many potholes on many city streets. The potholes are yet to be filled at many places in the city’s Brass Market, Service Road on Highway, Naiwali Chowk, Bawal Road, Mini Bypass and Circular Road. In addition, the partition walls on the ring road, which have long been dilapidated, are also a cause of accidents.

Angles used to protect intersections from hazards

During the fog season, dump trucks and heavy vehicles damaged many intersections in the city for which the administration had installed iron angles at many intersections including Naiwali Chowk. Many of them also turned at an angle due to collision with vehicles. Due to the lack of reflectors at intersections, an accident can occur in fog. According to the Ministry of Transport, placing iron brackets at intersections is also illegal.

Cows standing on the streets are also a problem

In the foggy season, cows standing in the middle of the road also become a problem for drivers. Cattle standing on the roads pose a risk of traffic obstruction and also an accident. On Thursday, cows gathered in the middle of the road at Naiwali, the busiest place.

Traffic police inspected

The Traffic SHO along with the team inspected several stretches on Narnaul Road, including the city’s Circular Road, identified the places for installation of reflectors and also installed concrete barriers and reflective tapes on them so that accidents could be prevented in foggy conditions. SHO Traffic Police Rajesh Kumar said that reflectors would be installed at all accident spots in the city. Reflective tape was also installed in many places. Repairing potholes and dividers on the road is the job of another department. The police are taking all necessary measures to keep people safe.
