Restructuring of Haryana Traders Welfare Board, notification issued

Reiterating its commitment to the welfare of traders, the Government of Haryana has re-established the Haryana Traders Welfare Board. Its main objective is to solve the problems and concerns of the traders, act as a bridge between the traders and the state government, ensure the social security and insurance coverage of the traders, increase investment and employment opportunities in the state and implement the rules and regulations various departments related to the traders and to analyze the conditions and make proposals to the government for their compensation and to set up a Corporate Welfare Fund.

According to the notification from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the board will consist of one person above 18 years of age as chairman and two persons as vice-chairmen. In addition, Administrative Secretaries of the Ministries of Finance, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Labor, Excise, Industry and Commerce, Energy, Mines and Geology, Environment and Climate Change will be members of the Board of Directors as senior officers of the Haryana Civil Service, who will act as the Secretary of the Board and will also serve as member secretary. According to the notification, the state government may also appoint ten non-official members as members of the board from time to time. The headquarters of the board will be in Chandigarh/Panchkula. If necessary, the Chairman may call a meeting anywhere in the state.
