Jind: A fine of Rs 325500 was imposed by Safidon’s SDM on the charge of embezzling Panchayat Fund by former Sarpanch Suman Devi from Bhuran Village in Pillukheda Bloc. SDM Safidon has also issued a notice to former Sarpanch Suman Devi to deposit the embezzled amount into the Panchayat Fund as soon as possible. This action was taken by the SDM following a complaint from Narendra Kumar, a former member of Division Seven of the Panchayat.
In early May 2022, CM Window’s Eminet person wrote an ATR to have the entire matter investigated by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in case Bhuran Village Village Secretary and BDPO Pillukheda failed to investigate the matter impartially. But the said ATR was also not updated in the CM window by the BDPO office. The complaint filed on 6 July 2020 at CM Window by Narendra Kumar, former member of Ward 7 of Bhuran village, made allegations that Sarpanch Suman Devi bought 300cc benches for Rs 3580 from Panchayat Fund during the Panchayati Raj Department (CC Bench interest rate was set at Rs 2495 by Panchayati Raj department. This way Rs 3.25 lakh rupees was embezzled in CC Bank alone.

Similarly, water chillers were purchased with regulations in mind, and no technical testing of water chillers was conducted either. While according to the rules of Panchayati Raj, a technical examination of electronic devices must be carried out. From making an offer to buy water chillers via sarpanch to installing water chillers, handing over the invoice and depositing money into the company account, everything was done in a single meeting while the water chillers were actually installed after a month. On the other hand, the Sarpanch has paved two lanes to his hatchery by issuing grants of Rs 30,000 and Rs 38,000 from the Panchayat Fund for his personal interests.
His signature was forged in the panchayat’s register of actions, the illegal occupation was done by showing the panchayat’s fixed number plot within the red thread. Thousands of rupees have been embezzled in the Panchayat fund, even in the name of making the initiation stone, there is a lot of clutter in the accounts of the JCB, which is run by the Sarpanch in the name of cleaning up and eliminating illegal encroachments on the village. Due to CM Window’s complaint which has been pending for the past three years, former Sarpanch Suman Devi of SDM Safidon has been fined Rs 325500 for embezzlement in Panchayat Fund and has been ordered to pay the fine amount in to deposit the panchayat fund as soon as possible.
