Soon, the government will develop the historic town of Agroha on the lines of Rakhigarhi in Haryana. The archaeological site of Agroha is considered the capital of Maharaja Agrasen. With the development of this place, this faith center will not only make a name for itself in the world but this place will also become famous as a tourist destination. The Central Government has approved the overall development of the Agroha archaeological site and its surrounding areas through an MoU on the Rakhigarhi model.

In this regard, Parveen Kumar Mishra, Director (Survey and Excavation), Archaeological Survey of India, Survey and Excavation Department, Government of India, has written a letter and provided information. In a letter to the Special Secretary and Director, Archeology and Museums Department, Government of Haryana, he said that the excavation of the Agroha archaeological site is being carried out jointly by the Excavation Division II of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). and the Haryana State Archeology Department. Before excavations begin, further investigations such as GPR surveys will be carried out in the potential areas. The Haryana State Archeology Department will fund the GPR survey.

Regarding the excavations at the centrally protected site of Agroha in Hisar district, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal met Union Culture Minister G. Wrote a letter to Kishan Reddy in August. The Chief Minister had expressed the desire that the Haryana government would like to highlight the archaeological heritage in the famous historical town of Agroha, Tehsil Adampur, Hisar district so that an important chapter is added to the cultural sector of the state. He has also asked to initiate a project to convert this site into a major heritage site in Haryana and set up a museum and an interpretation center for archaeological sites. The discovery of coins of Agroha (Republic) district during excavations and the appearance of its ancient name Agradoka in ancient literature, including Mahabharata, are sufficient evidence that it is the headquarters of the Republic. The town of Agroha lay on the old trade route between Taxila and Mathura and was therefore the center of trade and political activity until the new settlement of Firoz Shah Tughlaq (1351-88 AD) emerged at Hisar-e-Firoza (Hisar- 1354 AD) Remained an important center of activity. Previous excavations have demonstrated the site’s potential and have uncovered five distinct cultural periods, ranging from approximately the fourth to the fourteenth centuries AD.

Under the leadership of CM Manohar Lal, the state government is continuously working on the development of archaeological sites. The government is working closely with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on issues such as preservation of the ancient civilization of Rakhigarhi and development of the site. The state government will also give a makeover to the historical heritage of Lohgarh. Although Haryana is a small state geographically, most things related to archeology can be found here. Remnants of Saraswati period civilization can also be found in many places in Haryana. The government is trying to preserve and protect all of this.
