Kurukshetra. RTA secretary Vijay Deswal said drivers of overloaded vehicles would not be spared under any circumstances. All vehicle drivers should load the goods into the vehicles in accordance with the regulations. If overloaded vehicles are found to be non-compliant at any point, strict action will be taken. The important aspect is that the RTA department has collected a fine of Rs 1 Crore 7,500 from drivers of overloaded vehicles in November 2023.

Giving information, RTA Secretary Vijay Deswal said that the work of vehicle inspection is being carried out continuously by the RTA department. For this purpose, the department has formed a special team that keeps an eye on overloaded vehicles day and night. Due to the efforts of this team, notices were issued to 257 overloaded vehicles in November 2023 and from these notices, the department has also collected a fine of Rs 1 Crore 19 Lakh 16,500. He said vehicles carrying goods with more than the permissible load will not be allowed on the roads under any circumstances. Therefore, the officials of the department from time to time appeal to the drivers to ensure that they carry the permissible load for the vehicle.

He said that the RTA department organizes workshops and seminars from time to time to sensitize people about traffic rules. These seminars are organized in schools and colleges by the education department and the college administration. By organizing various programs on behalf of the department, an oath was taken to enforce traffic rules. In addition, slogan competitions, quizzes and essay competitions are regularly organized in various schools.
