Kurukshetra News: The district police have issued an alert regarding the International Geeta Mahotsav in Kurukshetra from December 7 to 24, 2023. Many tourists from India and abroad come to the International Gita Mahotsav. In view of this, the district police has prepared a traffic diversion plan for the benefit of the public and tourists to ensure smooth flow of traffic except traffic during Geeta Mahotsav.

Kurukshetra Police Commissioner Surendra Singh Bhoria said that a traffic diversion plan has been prepared for the drivers coming for the International Geeta Mahotsav, scheduled to be held at Brahmasarovar from December 7 to 24, passing through Kurukshetra town so that traffic congestion can be eased can flow smoothly. Can be operated efficiently. He said blocks have been installed on all routes leading to Kurukshetra town which will regulate the traffic system. Entry of heavy vehicles is prohibited in Kurukshetra town.

Appealing to the city residents and drivers, the police commissioner said that they should not drive towards Brahmasarovar during the Geeta Mahotsav without any emergency but should use alternative routes. There is also an appeal to the tourists coming to Geeta Mahotsav not to park their vehicles on the roads and park them only in the parking spaces designated by the administration. Cooperate with the administration by following traffic police instructions posted at checkpoints or parking lots.

The traffic diversion plan for heavy vehicles is as follows

  • Traffic coming from Pehwa, Patiala and going to Saharanpur area, Haridwar, Uttarakhand and Yamunanagar district can travel via Pehwa Bypass NH-152 via Ismailabad Bypass via Thol, Kurdi, Nalvi and Shahabad villages get to their destination.
  • Traffic coming from Kaithal district, those who want to go to Saharanpur, Haridwar or more areas of UP, Indri, Ladwa, Yamunanagar district then that traffic will go from Pehwa to Dhand, Kaithal to Dhand i.e. whatever traffic is going to Dhand comes, the traffic does not go to Kurukshetra but to the village. Via Nigdu and Kaul, the route can reach its destination via Nilokhedi and Indri.
  • Whatever traffic will come to Pehwa from Patiala and the Punjab area and whoever has to go to Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat and further up and Delhi etc. via Kurukshetra can come to Pehwa via Dhand via traffic and from Dhand via Kaul village reach its goal.
  • Traffic going from Yamunanagar side to Pehwa and Punjab via Ladwa Kurukshetra can pass via Ladwa, Babain, Shahabad, Nalvi, Thol and Ismailabad.
  • From Yamunanagar district, Ladwa travels to Dhand, Kaithal and beyond via Kurukshetra. Traffic from Ladwa can reach its destination via Indri, Bhadso, Nilokhedi via Dhand-Kaithal.
