Hisar:Haryana Agriculture Development Fair-2023 is organized by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University on March 10-12. Vice Chancellor Prof. BR Kamboj said that this year the fair will be organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Haryana, and that the theme of the fair will be “Natural Agriculture”.

The Vice Chancellor said that natural farming is the need of the hour. This is a better farming method for environmental protection and human health. This improves the soil quality and also increases the income of the farmers. He said that all information about natural farming will be given to visiting farmers at the fair by scientists from the university.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. BR According to Kamboj, in addition to farmers, companies that produce seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural machinery and equipment will also take part in the fair. On this occasion, farmers are given the opportunity to get acquainted with the machines, tools and their working methods suitable for various agricultural works. Farmers can also find out about the price of these machines and their manufacturers. Progressive farmers are honored during this fair as part of the Chief Minister Pragatisheel Kisan Samman program. Agricultural implements are also distributed by drawing lots to the farmers who reach the fair. During the fair, daily technical sessions are organized on topical issues (contribution of women in agriculture, natural agriculture, use of drone technology in agriculture, etc.) for the improvement of farmers.

The Director of Education, Dr. Balwan Singh Mandal said that this fair will also be organized in front of the University Agricultural Fairgrounds as earlier this year. Agricultural literature will be made available to farmers at the fair, along with bio-fertilizers and improved seeds for kharif crops recommended by the university. For this purpose, sales counters are being set up on the Mela site in cooperation with various state seed agencies. The rabi plants grown by the scientists at the university’s research farm are shown to the farmers and they are informed about the techniques used. Harvest competitions are also organized on this occasion.

He shared that quiz meetings are being organized to solve the problems related to agriculture, animal husbandry and domestic science. Farmers are given the opportunity to have the soil, irrigation water and diseased plants scientifically examined on the exhibition grounds. On this occasion, exhibitions of animals of advanced breeds and harvesting competitions are also organized.

Co-Director (extension) Dr. Krishna Yadav said that booth bookings for the agro-industrial exhibition to be held at the fair are underway. This booking is made by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Haryana, Horticulture Department, Haryana and Chamber of Indian Industries. Booths will be allocated to private companies on a first come, first serve basis. Haryana cultural programs are organized every three days to entertain the farmers.

It is noteworthy that Haryana Agricultural University organizes Krishi Mela every March, which is attended by thousands of farmers from Haryana and neighboring states.
