Kaithal: A police officer who wanted to investigate in Chausala was attacked with his uniform torn

Kaithal: Police officers who went to the village to investigate a case in Chausala village, Kalayat area, were beaten by the defendants and their uniforms torn while shouting casteistic abuse at them. The police opened an investigation by filing a case against the accused at Kalayat Police Station for obstruction of government work, death threats, caste-related comments and assault.

PSI Sandeep of Kalayat Police Station said he went to Chaushala village with home guard Jawan Karamchand on June 21 to involve two parties in an investigation into a case. When he brought both parties into the investigation, Manoj Kumar, who was accused by one side, became angry, hit him and tore his uniform while uttering casteistic words. The slap broke his glasses and fell off. The defendant said his relative was in Tehsildar in Kalayat and was acquainted with senior officials. When his colleague Karmchand came to save him, Manoj and his mother Bero Devi twisted the thumb of Karmchand’s right hand and threatened to kill him. Defendant Manoj Kumar slapped him, calling him a caste term, and tore up his uniform. On the other hand, his mother Bero Devi abused him and threatened to kill him for obstructing government duties.
