Jind: A speeding road bus collided with a bicycle near Patiala Chowk, killing one person who fell off the bicycle and injuring another person. The city’s police station has launched an investigation and, at the request of the injured person, initiated proceedings against the fleeing bus driver.

According to the information, Rajbir, a resident of Shriragkheda village, came with his brother-in-law Deshraj, a resident of Idachui, to the vegetable market on Sunday to buy vegetables. They both rode their bikes back to Patiala Chowk from the vegetable market. At the same time, the street bus coming from the old vegetable market side hit his bicycle. As the bike went out of control, Rajbir fell onto the side of the bus, with the rear wheel of the bus rolling over him and his brother-in-law Deshraj was also injured in the fall.

The bus driver fled the scene after the incident. Passengers took both to the civilian hospital. Where doctors pronounced Rajbir dead. After the city police received information about the incident, they went to the scene and took stock of the situation. The deceased’s brother-in-law, Deshraj, said that he rode the bicycle. The bus crossed them at high speed. At the same time, the bike’s balance deteriorated in a side impact, in which his brother-in-law Rajbir died.

The city police station handed over the body of the deceased to the relatives after the autopsy. After the injured Deshraj reported the incident, the police took action against the fugitive bus driver and launched an investigation. City Police Investigator Sultan said that following a complaint from the deceased’s brother-in-law, a case had been launched against the fugitive bus driver. The case is under investigation.
