According to the case filed in the court, a person from Sadar police station Safidon filed a police complaint on October 24, 2020, stating that her 15-year-old daughter went missing at home at night. Conversations with two unknown numbers were found on his phone. When the person reported the crime, the police opened a case against an unknown person for taking hostages. The police later found the girl. The investigation had revealed that Amit from the village along with his friend Shakti had kidnapped the girl. Amit then raped the girl. The defendants threatened dire consequences if they told anyone about the incident.

Police from Sadar police station in Safidon had registered a case of kidnapping and six counts of POCSO against both of them and arrested them. Since then, the matter has been pending in court. His accomplice Shakti, who was involved in the kidnapping, was sentenced to five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 15,000. If the fine is not paid, Amit will face an additional imprisonment of two years and Shakti will face an additional imprisonment of five months.
