It is noteworthy that due to shortage of water in the tanks of the water house in the city, the water supply to the water house is disrupted and the water supply from the concerned department has not reached people’s houses for the last 15 days. This has made the water problem a serious problem for the people of Tosham. The problem has become so severe that apart from water for bathing, people cannot even drink water to quench their thirst.
Water has to be fetched from distant areas
In such a situation, the middle and rich families somehow make a living by hiring RVs and tankers while the poor families are forced to transport water from far away places by using natural resources like hand pumps etc. Tosham residents Govinda, Vicky, Naresh Kumar, Panch representative Vijay Verma, Subhash Painter, Sunny Mohal, Arun Mohal, Kuldeep Pradhan etc. said that it has been more than 15 days since the water supply reached their houses. Due to this, there is a major water crisis in front of them, there is no water for bathing or water for drinking, either they have to spend money and fetch water from RVs and tankers, or they have to carry water on their heads from far away places. He demanded that the responsible authority should, as before, ensure a continuous supply of drinking water in the city so that the ordinary population can be relieved of the water problem.

In this regard, the official of the department concerned, Senior Engineer Vikas Dhankhar said that due to lack of supply of canal water from the rear, water is not entering the tanks of the water house. Vikas Dhankhar said he had spoken to the canal authority officials and they had requested that water be supplied to the canal by October 9 and 10. Once the water arrives in the reservoir, water supply in the city will be ensured.
