In case of dog bite, vaccine must be purchased from outside: ARV injection completed in civil hospital, problems increase

Jind: The problems of patients coming to the Civil Hospital in the district headquarters are not decreasing. If a person is bitten by a dog, he or she must purchase the vaccine from outside because the hospital no longer has ARV injections. For this reason, the patients faced great difficulties. The Director General of Health, Dr. Randeep Singh Poonia, visited the Civil Hospital and gave instructions to make arrangements and provide best possible care to the patients, but the orders were canceled in a single day. When employees were asked when the goods would arrive, they shrugged and replied that they had no information about it. People had to get injections from outside at three times the price.

In case of an animal bite, vaccination against rabies is required.

A rabies vaccination is given if a person has been bitten by a dog or other animal. It is necessary that the patient receives the vaccine within 72 hours. If you do not get vaccinated, you are at risk of contracting rabies. In such a situation, it is very important to get vaccinated. If you are bitten by a dog or monkey, seek medical attention immediately and get a rabies vaccination. Clean the bitten area with soap for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Get the vaccine or ARV vaccine as soon as possible. Have your dogs given injections. Don’t be negligent when treating dog or monkey bites.

80 to 100 people come every day to get an injection.

On an average, 100 patients come to the civil hospital every day to get injections for dog and monkey bites. On Thursday, like every day, people came to be treated for dog bites. Doctors advised these people to take ARV injections. When the patients reached the injection room, they found that the injections were finished. They had to buy the vaccine from outside.

Injection worth 400 rupees in medical store

Due to shortage of ARV injections in the civil hospital, patients had to buy these injections from medical shops outside. Patients said that this injection is available at medical stores for up to Rs 400. Aryan, a resident of Rohtak Road, said he came to get a rabies injection but when he reached the hospital, he came to know that the injections were over. He had to get his fourth shot. Due to this, he was forced to give himself an external injection for 400 rupees. When workers were asked about the injection the next day, they received no clear answer. Why were no precautions taken by the health administration when the supply was about to run out?

An ARV injection can be done with a prescription worth Rs 100.

A patient in a civil hospital receives ARV injections at three fixed intervals. A ticket of Rs 100 will be deducted for this. The patient can then receive the injection upon presentation of the receipt. If 80 patients come for injections every day, that would be 1,800 per month. BPL people can get a rabies shot at the hospital for free, while general category people can get it for Rs 100. However, due to shortage of vaccines in the hospital, patients are forced to get the injections purchased at medical stores for more than Rs 400.

Application for rabies injection submitted: CMO

CMO Dr. Gopal Goyal said that the demand for rabies injection was made. Injections will soon be available to the hospital administration. The injections ended on Thursday itself. People will not be allowed to face any difficulties.
