Haryana: CMO official’s interference in health ministry, Vij angry

Haryana: Health and Home Minister Anil Vij was quite upset over the interference of an influential CMO (Chief Minister’s Office) official in the Health Ministry. Vij, who has been angry for the last few days, showed his anger openly on Tuesday. The common people and MLAs who had come to his ministry on the eighth floor were advised to go to the officer and were turned away.

MLA Dr. Krishna Midha Jind, Satyaprakash Jaravata, Rajesh Nagar along with several other public representatives and common people also reached his office on the eighth floor of the Haryana Secretariat to meet Health and Home Minister Anil Vij. In addition, MPHW representatives also raised issues related to the health department and called for their resolution. But Vij seemed hurt and angry over the interference of an influential official of his department’s CM office. While Vij was slowing down the health department’s files, he was also expressing his displeasure in front of everyone. He asked all persons and MLAs who came for work related to the health department to go to the officer on the fourth floor. Vij even seemed angry and said that the health department had turned away from him. So he took the officer’s name and asked him to go and do his job. For the last two to three days, Vij has been refusing to sign the health department files.

It is reported that a marathon health department meeting was held in Panchkula by a CMO official which lasted three to four hours. This senior official definitely told Minister Vij about it, but a meeting of top officials took place in his absence. Vij is also upset with the decisions taken in this review meeting. Except for the official who heads the department, all health department officials were present during this period. If sources are to be believed, it was reported by a senior official that a senior and powerful head of the center had asked to speed up the work of this department. After that, this meeting took place and the official clearly communicated this to the minister. Now the controversy over the whole thing seems to be heating up. All officials are waiting to see how CM Manohar Lal will find a solution to the whole matter. Vij, angered by the manipulations in his departments and the arbitrariness of officials, had already lodged a protest following which the CM withdrew the department. Besides former DGP Manoj Yadav, Vij was also upset over not being invited to the foundation stone laying ceremony of the medical college in Yamuna Nagar. He then wrote a letter to the CM against two women IAS officers. Although the two female officers have lost their morale, it now remains to be seen what resolution will be found in these cases.
