Gurugram: The Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau team arrested Deepak, an employee of the Haryana Skill Employment Corporation Limited (HKRNL) at the Municipal Corporation office in Gurugram, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. Due to the involvement of another accused ZTO Sameer in this case, he was also arrested. It is alleged that the ZTO demanded a bribe of one lakh rupees through the employee Deepak, following which the accused Deepak was arrested red-handed by the ACB team while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000.

A bribe was demanded in return for lowering the house tax

A government spokesperson said that the Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau team received information that Deepak Clerk and Sameer Zonal Taxation Officer i.e. ZTO demanded a bribe of one lakh rupees from the complainant in return for a reduction in house tax. While investigating the facts of the case, the ACB team planned to nab the accused and arrested the accused Deepak red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. Accused ZTO Sameer was also arrested due to his involvement. The entire process was fair and transparent in front of the witnesses. The matter will be investigated by collecting all necessary evidence.

Strict action will be taken against those who demand bribes in return for government work

A government spokesperson said a case was registered against the accused in the case at the Anti-Corruption Bureau police station in Gurugram and they were arrested.
