Deependra has an army of ticket seekers: The shortage of strong manpower willing to pitch in to secure a ticket in the Lok Sabha elections is becoming increasingly acute

Narendra Vats, Rewari: It is almost certain that Deependra Singh Hooda will contest from Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency on the Congress ticket. Deependra, who lost his seat due to a heavy defeat from Kosli constituency in the last Lok Sabha elections, has focused more on bringing together small and big leaders of the constituency. With no attention given to the general workers, their enthusiasm over Deependra’s election seems to be waning. There appears to be little hope of a major miracle from the leaders who have been associated with them because they were assured a ticket. The workers’ discontent could again deal a blow to Deependra in Kosli.

The importance increased after the founding of the new Halka

The importance of Kosli constituency, which has about 2.5 million voters, has increased since the creation of the new constituency. This is the only light in Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency, which is dominated by Ahir. In the last Lok Sabha elections, the competition between Jat and non-Jat candidates had changed, resulting in BJP candidate Dr. Arvind Sharma received 70.94 percent of the votes in this constituency. His rival Deependra Hooda lost to the Kosli voters with 25.8 percent of the votes, which is why Deependra, who was victorious in many districts, had to accept defeat. Despite the defeat, Deependra completely focused on Kosli constituency. To convert the crushing defeat in the constituency into a victory, he expressed his confidence in the leaders rather than the rank and file workers. The veteran leaders of the Congress include former MP Rao Yaduvendra Singh.

Yaduvendra Singh, the first MLA from the constituency.

Yaduvendra was the first MLA from this constituency, which was formed in 2009. After winning elections, he often disappeared from the scene, which is why he suffered devastating defeats in 2014 and 2019. Even after the defeat, the distance to his workers remained constant. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, he again stepped up his activities to give Assembly seat to Hooda through father and son, but on behalf of the support base, Yaduvendra’s hands seem to be empty. Recently, he had tried to demonstrate his strength by holding a public meeting in Dahina, but he was not entirely successful.

Seeing the support base, Jagdish added

Deependra Hooda had inducted former minister Jagdish Yadav, who had a personal support base, in Kosli to make up for the loss in the last Lok Sabha elections. Due to the number of thirty-six between Yaduvendra and Jagdish, it is not necessary that Deependra can get the open support of Jagdish followers. Deependra had also expelled Anil Palhwas from the BJP and joined the Congress. Without a firm ticket guarantee, Deependra may have to give up hope of Jagdish openly supporting him.

The enthusiasm of the old supporters disappeared

There is Manoj Kosaliya and many other faces who have been associated with Deependra in Kosli for a long time and are working for Deependra with complete honesty. There were many candidates in the queue in case Yaduvendra’s ticket was canceled but due to Jagdish and Anil Palh joining the Congress, the enthusiasm of old supporters has disappeared. In Deependra, there are more faces hoping for a ticket in this constituency while there is a major shortage of ordinary workers.
