Sonipat: An illegal telephone exchange was being operated at a flat in Supermax Society, which was uncovered during a raid by the joint team of CM Flying and Telecom Company on Monday. The illegal exchange was masterminded by Vikas Verma alias Vikas Mohammad, a resident of Bhainswal village who is accused of treason and is out on bail in the treason case. Vikas was arrested from the spot and handed over to Sector 27 police station. The police are investigating the matter.
According to the information, Hussan M Zaidi, the nodal officer of the private telecom company’s Phase 7 office in Mohali, Punjab, told the Sector 27 police station that he received information that calls were being made to some suspicious numbers from 25 SIM cards would be made by his company. . He contacted the Chief Minister Flying Squad. After this, DSP Ajit Singh’s team from the Chief Minister Flying Squad swung into action. He received information that an illegal telephone exchange was taking place in a supermax flat near Rathdhana area in Sector 33. For this purpose, he conducted the raid along with the official of the private telecom company along with ADG Sachin and JTO Anil Kumar of the Telecom Department, Government of India and Inspector Baliram, SI Raj Singh, ASI Rajesh Kumar and Jogendra of his staff.
The team found an illegal telephone exchange there through which the accused Vikas Mohammed used his exchange to convert international calls into local calls. He could have forwarded it to any area of the country as well as abroad. Such periods are not subject to government supervision. Government, administration and local telecommunications companies don’t even know that someone’s conversation is taking place abroad. Police took control of Vikas. From there, the machine, laptop, two setup boxes, 38 SIMs installed in them and 36 separate SIMs were recovered. The police officer in charge of Sector 27, Dr. Sunil, was called and the accused was handed over to him. Police have registered a case based on the statement of Hussan M. Zaidi.

An ILD license is required for international call forwarding. A fee of around Rs 2.5 crore has to be deposited for this. However, no ILD license of the accused was found during the raid. There is a possibility that he will make people involved in terrorist activities and treason communicate with locals and outsiders. The police have started investigating. CM Flying DSP Ajit Singh said international calls were being illegally routed within the country and abroad. It determines how many calls were forwarded each day and how much money was charged for them. The defendant has already been accused of high treason.
