Ambala: There was a heated argument between two parties during the wedding ceremony. Based on the complaints received from both groups, the police have initiated a cross-investigation. In the complaint filed by a group, the girl accused the retired SI of molesting her and also assaulting her brother. On the other hand, the retired SI has accused the girl’s father and brothers of assault. The police are investigating the matter.

Retired SI and advocate Vinod Kumar Walia, a resident of Sector-8 Housing Board Colony, said that Sarpanch Devendra Walia of Kalalti village had filed a dowry case against his son-in-law Jatindra Walia. As a lawyer, he represents Jatindra. On Saturday evening, he went to a wedding ceremony with his friends Tejendra Walia, Vishwadeep Thakur and Vinesh Walia. He alleged that at 9pm, 10 to 12 boys along with Sarpanch Devendra Walia came here and started beating him. Devendra and Sahil held their throats. The lawyer alleged that Sahil, Pankaj, Lucky, Dhaniram and Akash attacked him by hitting him on the neck and mouth. Johnny and Akash also kicked him in the stomach. Mukesh, Devendra and Sahil strangled her with a silencer. Akash also tore the gold chain from his neck. Sahil tried to take out the gold bangle. Following Walia’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the attackers. On the other hand, the sarpanch’s daughter Vinod Kumar accused Walia of making inappropriate gestures towards her. He also alleged that Vinod Kumar’s son and his associates also beat his father and brother. Vinod’s son attacked him with a knife. Now the police are investigating this matter.
