Mahendragarh. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a master plan has been prepared for the rehabilitation work of Mahendragarh Railway Station at a cost of Rs 16 Crore 59 Lakh. This work will be carried out in phases.

We would like to inform you that the Central Government has decided to expand facilities at various railway stations in the country. Under Amrit Yojana, various construction works are being carried out at 15 railway stations in Bikaner division. Mahendragarh-Bhiwani Lok Sabha, Mahendragarh, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri and Narnaul railway stations have also been included in this project. Recently, MP Dharmbir Singh had also visited the station along with railway officials. In the first phase, works worth Rs 6 crore 51 lakh will be carried out. These works include improving traffic flow and developing a green belt in the transport area, as well as beautifying the transport area with dedicated parking, improving the facade of the station building and improving lighting, providing VIP rooms and a new modern toilet block, renovation of existing toilet blocks with fixtures, provision of platform canopies and replacement of GI panels of existing platform canopies, renovation of the existing station building, provision of separate entry and exit gates with aesthetically improved boundary walls etc. A veranda will also be provided in the station building.

The work will be completed in June 2024

Tenders were published for this work. All work is expected to be completed by June 2024. Besides these works, a bus guidance system, train display board, GPS based clocks, outdoor video device, television and loudspeakers have also been provided at Mahendragarh railway station under this project. About 55,000 rupees will be spent on this. Additionally, a 12 meter wide footbridge is also proposed which will cost around Rs 8 Crore 97 Lakh.

In 1940, a meter gauge line was laid from Rewari to Bikaner and in 1942, the first meter gauge train was operated from Delhi to Bikaner. In 2008 the meter gauge line was moved to the broad gauge line. After this, the laying of power line from Rewari to Sadalpur was started in 2020 and testing of the power line was started in 2021, but the operation of electric train on this route has not started yet.
