Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia reached his residence to meet his wife Seema Sisodia. The Delhi High Court yesterday allowed him to meet his ailing wife from 10 am to 5 pm today. Along with this, the court has reserved the decision on his interim bail. But Sisodia could not meet his wife even after reaching home.

Let us inform that even before reaching Manish Sisodia’s house on Saturday morning, his wife Seema Sisodia’s health suddenly deteriorated. Because of this, he had to be immediately admitted to Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Hospital (LNJP Hospital). Since the court has only allowed him to go home, he could not meet his wife, who is admitted in the hospital. Sisodia will remain at his home under the security cover of Delhi Police for 7 hours and will go back to jail after the bail time is over. Giving him immediate relief, the court said that Sisodia would not talk to the media during this period. They will be allowed to talk only to their family members. Due to this, they will not be able to use mobile phone and internet. The court has asked Sisodia to submit the medical report of his wife by Saturday evening. In fact, Sisodia had sought bail from the Delhi High Court citing his wife’s health.

Enforcement Directorate made this allegation

Significantly, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has accused former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia of alleged scam in Excise policy. The ED claims that irregularities were committed while changing the excise policy and undue favors were given to the license holders. Sisodia played a key role in this, as he was in charge of the Excise Department. The matter was heard in the Delhi High Court on June 1. Sisodia’s lawyer had told that this policy was withdrawn when Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena did not allow liquor shops to open in prohibited areas. Due to this the Excise Department suffered a lot. On the other hand, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the ED, claimed that the policy was withdrawn due to the disclosure of the wrongdoings of the accused.
