Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav will be honored with the Padma Vibhushan award posthumously today. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will reach Delhi today to receive his father’s honour. Along with Akhilesh Yadav, his wife Dimple Pandey will also be present. A total of 126 people will be honored with Padma Awards by President Draupadi Murmu at a function to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening.
Let us tell you that the list of people to be honored with Padma Vibhushan was released on the eve of January 26 itself. Out of 126 people included in this list, 6 people will be honored with Padma Vibhushan award, 9 will be awarded Padma Bhushan, while 91 people will be honored with Padma Shri. There are 19 women in this list, while there are 7 people who are being honored with the Padma Awards posthumously.
Akhilesh Yadav had demanded Bharat Ratna for his father
Please inform that SP patron and former UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav died in October 2022. Mulayam Singh will be posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan. When it came to honoring Mulayam Singh Yadav with the Padma Vibhushan award, SP leaders including Akhilesh Yadav protested fiercely. Akhilesh Yadav had said that my father Mulayam Singh Yadav should be honored with Bharat Ratna. We will not accept the Padma Vibhushan honor, for the public works done by Mulayam Singh Yadav, he should not get Padma Vibhushan but Bharat Ratna. Due to this demand of Akhilesh, political upheaval was witnessed across the country. But, today on Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav is going to reach Delhi to receive the Padma Vibhushan, the honor given to his father.
