A loader has been arrested for stealing valuables from passengers’ bags at IGI Airport. 13 expensive wrist watches and an iPhone 14 Pro Max have been recovered from it. The name of the accused is Neeraj Kumar, son of Kamal Kumar, resident of Qutub Vihar, Phase 2 Goyla Dairy. According to DCP Devesh Kumar Mahala, the present case was registered at IGI Airport police station on the complaint of a passenger named Anil Kapoor. He told in the complaint that he was going to Halifax, Canada with his family. He had a brand new iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB while getting wheelchair assistance.

While he was placing his luggage during the check-in process, the person assisting him from the wheelchair was watching him. When he later arrived in Canada and collected his luggage, he found the iPhone missing. The lock of the bag was also removed. The police team carefully examined the CCTV footage and the entire batch of loaders in that shift was interrogated. Finally loader Neeraj Kumar confessed to stealing the mobile phone. He revealed that he had already stolen valuables from many passengers.

Many employees from different airlines have helped him do this. During interrogation it was revealed that the airlines were repeatedly not following the guidelines issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and were in collusion with these thieves. Police are interrogating officials of two airlines. It is noteworthy that this year the IGI Police has recovered 35 stolen mobiles, one stolen Innova car, one motorcycle, seven household items, 10 gold and eight stolen silver items and 13 expensive wrist watches. 25 people involved in goods theft have been arrested.
