2010 batch IRS officer Sohail Malik has been arrested for molesting, stalking and harassing a woman IAS officer in Delhi. In this regard, a case under sections 354D, 354 and 506 of the IPC has been registered at the Parliament Street police station. Explain that the victim woman officer has alleged that she met the IRS officer in 2020 while working in the Kovid-19 Support Group. He has tried several times to get close to her, but she rejects him every time.

Sources revealed that the woman was a member of a WhatsApp group named Karuna Cooperation Group during the Covid crisis. In order to help, she came in contact with the IRAS officer posted as Resident Commissioner in Bihar Bhavan. He was also a member of the WhatsApp group. He often tried to get close to her, but she kept ignoring it. The woman also informed her husband about his antics.

The woman’s husband had also threatened action

On July 31 last year, the woman’s husband also threatened the accused with legal action. He kept quiet for some time, but started stalking the woman again from January this year. Even the parcel was delivered to the woman’s office on March 9. On May 15, following the victim officer, he reached Krishi Bhavan. After this, a complaint was given on behalf of the woman at the Parliament Street police station. It is being told that the accused officer is also accused of harassing many other girls and women. When contacted DCP Pranav Tayal of New Delhi district in this regard, he did not share much information and said that the matter is still under investigation.
