Delhi: To get rid of the moneylenders in Nand Nagari area, a man got his own nephew to shoot himself. Later, the blame for the shooting was placed on the lenders, but this ruse was unearthed in the police investigation and in this case of attempt to murder and Arms Act, the police have arrested both the uncle and nephew.

According to DCP North East District Joy Tirkey, firing was reported near the fish pond in Tahirpur, Nand Nagri at around 6.15 am on Friday morning. When the police reached the spot and investigated, it was found that Sundar, a resident of New Seemapuri, had a bullet wound on the upper right arm. Police also found a shell at the spot.

The victim’s nephew Himanshu was also found there. Both of them told that a person came near the pond in Leper Colony, Tahirpur and after abusing Sundar, shot him from behind and ran away. The injured Sundar was taken to GTB Hospital, where his condition was declared out of danger.

The role of uncle and nephew appeared suspicious in the police investigation. When the investigation turned towards him, it was found that Sundar owed money to some people. He wanted to implicate them in the firing case by injuring himself. During interrogation, his nephew revealed the truth and admitted that he had shot his uncle as part of a conspiracy. After firing, he threw the pistol in the pond, which was later recovered. In the case, the police have arrested both the accused uncle Sundar and nephew Himanshu alias Anshu.
