According to media reports, a Muharram procession was being taken out in Nangloi area of ​​Delhi yesterday i.e. on Saturday. About 10 thousand people participated in this procession. Police said that when the procession reached near Maharaja Surajmal Stadium, the people involved in the procession tried to go inside the stadium. On being stopped, the miscreants involved in the procession got enraged and started pelting stones at the police. Not only this, the miscreants pelted stones not only at the police but also at the people going by buses and cars. There was a stir among the common people by giving sticks, swords and stones in the hands of the attackers.

Outer Delhi DCP Harendra Singh said that private and public vehicles were also vandalized by anti-social elements. Many police personnel were also injured. He told that as soon as the information about the ruckus was received, additional police force was sent to the spot. When the disturbance did not calm down even after the police explained, a light lathi charge had to be done. The DCP told that we had brought the situation under control, but there is a possibility of violence again, so a heavy police force has been deployed on the spot.

The police will arrest the accused as soon as possible and reveal the whole matter.
