In fact, Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha, in his petition, has demanded a stay on the order of Patiala House Court. The trial court had told Chadha that he had no right to continue occupying the government-owned Tier 7 bungalow on Pandara Road.

No right to occupy government accommodation

The trial court had also told Chadha that Chadha cannot claim that he has the right to occupy the government accommodation during his entire tenure as a Rajya Sabha MP. During this, Chadha argued that once a house is allotted to an MP, it cannot be canceled under any circumstances during his tenure. Let us tell you that this bungalow comes in Lutyens Zone of Delhi. This bungalow is given to those leaders. Who is working as Chief Minister or Governor. After the trial court’s decision, AAP leaders have reached the High Court.

After becoming a Rajya Sabha MP from Aam Aadmi Party, Raghav Chadha was allotted a Type-7 bungalow on Pandara Road, Delhi, but later it was found that first-time MP Raghav Chadha was not authorized for it. Let us tell you that under the rules, government flats are allotted to leaders who become MPs for the first time. But Raghav was allotted the bungalow by mistake. After this, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, correcting its mistake, gave notice to Chadha to vacate the bungalow. But Chadha is not ready to vacate the bungalow. However, now it remains to be seen whether Chadha gets relief from the court or not.

Chaddha reaches Supreme Court against suspension from Rajya Sabha

According to media reports, meanwhile, Raghav Chadha has moved the Supreme Court against his suspension from Rajya Sabha. Let us tell you that the AAP MP is accused of proposing his name to the Select Committee without the consent of five MPs. He had signed for it. Till now this matter is with the Privilege Committee of Parliament. Raghav Chadha is continuously calling his suspension wrong. Chadha was suspended in August. But there was no relief. Now Chadha has approached the Supreme Court.
