Internship guidelines issued by UGC
UGC UG Internship 2023: As per the provisions of NEP 2020, the University Grants Commission has implemented the credit framework at the UG level. Internship has been made mandatory to increase the employability of students. This rule has been brought for students of various under-graduate courses in higher education institutions (HEIs) across the country. UGC has released the UG/Research Internship Draft Guidelines on 10 October 2023, for which suggestions and responses will be accepted till 12 November 2023. UGC UG Internship 2023: Information about UG Research Internship
Universities will have to appoint a nodal officer to prepare the internship programme. Institutes will enter into agreements with different companies to provide internships to students.
Every student will be given an internship supervisor by the institute, who will help the students in completing the internship project for the stipulated time.
Universities can also explore the possibilities of group internships in different ways.
To decide the internship, a survey will be conducted by the institutes regarding the needs of the local market and also, internship projects will be prepared by the institute on the basis of the survey and the courses being conducted.
The institutions will have to release the information about this internship project and the mentors appointed for them on their official website. Also, institutions will have to provide the facility of API integration on their official website so that experts or agencies of companies can register themselves.
The internship project will be linked to the skill development courses of the students.
Students will be given the option to choose their mentor from an institute or research organization or university, private companies or local administration or experts from outside India.
Universities, with the help of local administration, can select such tasks for which internship projects can be prepared. This will help students to understand social problems.
