On this occasion, a massive tree plantation drive has been started in Delhi. Today 5.50 lakh trees have been planted all over Delhi. Apart from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, LG VK Saxena also participated in the program of Van Mahotsav. Both planted trees and inspired people to plant trees.

He initiated the establishment of Tapovan, Nakshatravan and Rashivan in the Asola-Bhati Sanctuary along with Honorable Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Van Mahotsav. Trees and plants, hitherto associated with esoteric concepts, will now be available to all. He said that he was happy to see the saplings planted last year becoming trees. The 5.5 lakh saplings planted today will further enhance the green cover of the city. Also visited the Blue Lake with the CM and noted its rejuvenation into a robust water body as a result of the efforts initiated last year.
