Delhi Ordinance: Lok Sabha discussed the Delhi Services Bill today. During this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke in detail on the bill and fiercely targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of Delhi. Shah said that the controversy over the bill was not because the Delhi government wanted to control transfer postings, but because they wanted to hide the truth about their corruption and bungalows.

Home Minister Amit Shah has also lashed out at the opposition for supporting AAP’s fight against the Delhi Ordinance. He said that the opposition is forced to support this crores of rupees being spent for the sake of the alliance. I request the opposition to forget about the alliance as the victory of Narendra Modi is confirmed in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Defending the ordinance in the Lok Sabha, Shah said the Constitution of India allows the Center to make laws for Delhi. He said that the ordinance also refers to the Supreme Court’s order, which says that Parliament has the right to make laws on any issue with respect to Delhi.

On the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Rajendra Prasad and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar were also not in favor of giving full statehood to Delhi .

Shah had mentioned about the construction of Kejriwal’s bungalow

Shah was referring to the renovation of Kejriwal’s bungalow, which triggered a massive political tussle between the AAP and the BJP. The BJP had accused Delhi CM Kejriwal of spending crores of rupees to beautify his bungalow when the capital was battling COVID-19. The vigilance department of the Delhi government had said in a report to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) that the total cost of renovation of Kejriwal’s residence was Rs 52.71 crore. Out of this, Rs 33.49 crore was spent on the construction of the house and Rs 19.22 crore was spent on the construction of the CM’s office.
