Delhi Mayor Election 2023: Big news is coming out from Delhi Municipal Corporation Election (MCD Election). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not participate in the Delhi Mayor Election. The BJP has withdrawn the names of candidates for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor. In such a situation, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) mayoral candidate Shelly Oberoi will be the new mayor of MCD unopposed. AAP corporator Aale Mohammad Iqbal has won the election of deputy mayor.

As per the information received, Aam Aadmi Party’s Shaili Oberoi was unanimously elected as the Mayor of Delhi MCD after BJP candidate Shikha Rai withdrew her nomination. The BJP candidate for the Deputy Mayor election has also withdrawn. The House has been adjourned till May 2.

Please tell that Aam Aadmi Party is the ruling party in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. In the MCD elections held in December, the AAP had won 134 wards out of a total of 250. AAP had already declared the victory of its candidates. Shelly Oberoi became the mayor of MCD in the month of February amidst huge uproar. The term of the House ended on March 31. The Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957 provides for holding fresh elections to the post of mayor in April at the beginning of the financial year.
