Jitendra Soni – Jashpur. Terror of elephants continues in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. Elephant trampled a woman to death near Badalkhol sanctuary. On the other hand, the woman’s husband somehow saved his life by running away with his two children. On the information of this incident, Garden Forest Range Staff has reached the spot. It is being told that the woman was returning from Bansjhar village with her family from her daughter’s in-laws when the family was attacked by elephants. Elephants are roaming around in Kutma area and damaging paddy and maize crops.

According to the information received, the name of the deceased is Thunki Bai. She was a resident of Kutma village. She was returning with her family from her daughter’s in-laws’ place. During this, a woman died after being trampled by an elephant near Kutma Salkhadand.

A herd of three elephants roaming the field

Actually, three different groups of elephants are roaming in Badalkhol Sanctuary. In the coming days, reaching the nearby residential areas, they are creating havoc. These days, apart from damaging the crops of maize and paddy in the fields of the farmers, elephants are also damaging the houses and eating the grains kept there.

Forest department does not respond

Due to the headquarters of Badalkhol Sanctuary being Ambikapur, the local staff does not reach to help even after informing the villagers. Due to non-monitoring of the activities of the elephants by the employees of the Forest Department, the problems of the people of 6 villages have increased.
