During this, elephants broke four houses and also damaged the crops in the field. As soon as the information was received, the Forest Department officials reached the spot, they advised the people not to tamper with the wild elephants and to stay away from them. At present, both the elephants are camping in the forests away from the village.

According to the information received, the two-member wild elephant reached Bagdoli village of Sitapur after wandering from the forests of neighboring Jashpur district late at night. Wild elephants started creating ruckus as soon as they entered the village. Even before entering the village, the wild elephants caused a lot of damage to the sugarcane, paddy and tomato crops planted in the fields. After this, the elephants ransacked the houses of Rajesh, Ramviranjan Raju, Labhon Binder, Kamalsai, Ramprasad and Basant. The whole village woke up due to the mischief of the elephants, then the people of the village gathered and with full understanding drove the wild elephants out of the village. During this, he also informed the Forest Department about this.

Forest staff reached the spot

As soon as the information was received, the officers and employees of the Forest Department reached the spot and went to the victim’s family and took stock of the damage caused by the elephants. During this, he advised people not to tamper with wild elephants, stay away from them and not go to the forest. At present, both the wild elephants are camping in the forest on the border of Surguja and Jashpur, away from the village.

In this regard, Forest Range Officer Vijay Kumar Tiwari said that people have been advised to stay away from wild elephants. Along with this, the movement of wild elephants is also being monitored.
