Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has launched the Millet Mission Scheme with the aim of promoting traditional crops of Chhattisgarh and reducing the rate of malnutrition in the state. The United Nations has decided to celebrate the year 2023 as the ‘International Year of Millets’. Along with this, the Chhattisgarh government has encouraged millets cafes to be opened in all the districts of the state with the aim of making the delicacies made of millets accessible to the people.
For this purpose, millets cafes are being started in every district of the state under the scheme. Under the scheme, operations of Korea Millets Cafe have been started in Korea district from May 10 under the guidance of Collector Vinay Langeh. Within a month of operation, Korea Millets Cafe has created a new record of success.
18 people got employment
Korea Millets Cafe has provided employment to 12 women as well as a total of 18 people and with their collective efforts, the cafe has got a net profit of 2 lakhs in a month itself.
The cafe has been a center of attraction since day one
Jowar, Bajra, Ragi, Jhangora, Bari, Kangni, Kutki (small grain), Kodo, Chena (China), Sama or Sawa, Kutki and Barley etc. in Korea district, make delicious dishes such as dosa, chilla, idli, kheer, Gulabjamun is the only place to taste cookies. This cafe has emerged as a center of attraction for the people from the very first day of its opening.
Arrangement of service and selfie point also
Excellent seating arrangements, excellent service and selfie points have also been arranged for the consumers coming here along with delicious dishes of millets. Music nights are programmed at the cafe every Saturday of the week, due to which people come here to make their outing fun and enjoyable.
profit of 2 lakhs in the first month
Korea Millets Cafe is being run by Roshni women self-help group. In the last one month, the group has given birth to new possibilities for the future by earning an income of 2 lakhs while operating the cafe. Due to this, the farmers who produce millets have got a place to sell their products, on the other hand, the people working in the cafe have also got a new way to be financially empowered.
