On the call of Chhattisgarh Irregular Employees Morcha, irregular employees across the state protested for 4 point demands including regularization, stop outsourcing, reinstatement of retrenched employees. Irregular employees who were agitated over non-compliance of their promises were arrested at the protest site at Tuta in Nava Raipur. In view of the Jail Bharo movement, the district administration declared the picket site as a temporary jail, where a large number of employees were arrested.
Thousands of irregular employees of more than 50 irregular organizations of the state staged a sit-in protest after reaching the protest site at Tuta in Nava Raipur. Morcha’s provincial convenor Gopal Prasad Sahu, who is leading the protest, says, the Congress party in its public manifesto promised to regularize irregular employees, contract and daily wage employees, but till date the promise of regularization has not been fulfilled. A committee was formed to examine the applications of unions of irregular employees, which has not yet been able to submit its report. Due to this, irregular employees, contract, daily wage earners, laborers working on collector rate, labor commissioner rate, placement employees are irregular across the state. Demanding regularization, the casual employees submitted a memorandum regarding their demands to the officials of the district administration.

Outsourcing, contract service provider system in government services should be completely abolished and employees should be adjusted and demand for regularization within the stipulated period.
