Khairagarh. As soon as the study center of Music University started in the capital Raipur, a fire of protest against the university administration has erupted in the city. After the establishment of the contact centre, the protest against the direct opening of study centers by the university administration in the capital Raipur has increased. A torch rally was carried out in the city on Sunday as a protest against the study centers being run in Raipur, terming it an attempt to break the music university. There was a demand for its complete closure.
Slogans were also raised against Music University Vice Chancellor Mamta Chandrakar during the torch rally in the city. The residents of the city lodged their protest against this and said that the state government had proposed to open an information center of the Music University in the capital so that timely information could be given to the students of other states and countries coming to the Music University. But instead the university administration has started a study center in Raipur. This will have a huge impact on the music university in the city. Due to which sharp reaction and protest has started in the city.
University will expand, not disintegrate
Due to continuous protests, the university administration tried to clarify the situation by calling a press conference on Monday. In the press conference held in the university auditorium, Vice Chancellor Mamta Chandrakar clarified that the study center opened in Raipur will conduct only diploma courses under the university. Those students who are not able to get admission in Music University due to limited seats, will find it easier there. Ms. Chandrakar further said that the plan of Raipur Study Center was made in 2014 which was accepted by the government. Along with the study center Raipur, the state government has also given approval to open new music colleges in Ambikapur, Bastar, Durg and Bilaspur. Ms Chandrakar also clarified that this has been approved under the new education policy. The government has sanctioned separate posts, this will not cause any loss to the university, rather it will enhance the interests of the university. The university will now be successful in showing the influence of the music university at the capital level.
Nagar bandh got support from many organizations
Various union organizations including the Traders Association, Advocates Association have given their support to the city bandh called today in protest against the start of study center of Music University in Raipur. Apart from this, there are preparations for several phased movements.
