On 18 April 22, the administration sent OSD Dr. Jagdish Sonkar and OSD Police Ankita Sharma to decide the structure of the new district. In a grand program on September 3, CM Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated Khairagarh, Chhuikhadan, Gandai as the 33rd district of the state and appointed both OSDs as District Collector and Superintendent of Police respectively.

With the aim of fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the region, the government gave the command of the police administration to the first woman IPS of the state, Ankita Sharma, as soon as she took charge, the graph of crime decreased in the police station and outpost areas under the district. Public friendly policing got a boost and the most important thing was the ease of the police captain meeting the complainants, taking personal interest in quick resolution of problems. Due to which, in a short period of just one year, the District Police has established new standards of success in the work of law and order, crime control and community policing. Looking at the activities of the police throughout the year, it is known that 39 missing boys and girls were recovered by running a campaign under Operation Muskaan. Of these, 16 children were found in other states. Similarly, 236 missing persons were handed over to their relatives after tracing them.

Record made in crime control and case solving

With regard to cybercrime also, under the successful guidance of Police Captain Ankita Sharma, holding a dozen cyber crimes registered in various police stations, the amount above 2 lakh 26 thousand was returned to the applicant from the court. 45 lakh was returned by taking custody of the accused of online fraud from Delhi. 5 lakh 80 thousand were arrested from Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh, 1 lakh 35 thousand from an accused from Jharkhand, 2 lakh 42 thousand held by online cyber portal 1930 was returned through the court. On the other hand, 105 stolen or missing mobiles were returned along with the recovery of jewelery worth Rs 4 lakh after arresting the accused of theft from Nagpur. Along with district construction, training camps were organized in the presence of subject experts to get information about cyber cell, IRAD, online fraud, CCTNC and finger print, to strengthen the concept of alert police. In 116 cases, the district police has been successful in providing relief amount of five lakh 75 thousand through the District Legal Services.

Significant reduction in crimes against women

By organizing 183 programs in the district under the Humar Beti Humar Maan campaign, the district police succeeded in securing the sixth position in the state by getting more than 9 thousand app downloads. There is a decrease in women’s crime due to the continuous program organized under the campaign, on the one hand, 22 cases of rape were registered from January to July 22, in which there was a decline of 46 percent and a 10 percent reduction in kidnapping cases. During the search regarding the Naxalite movement, the dump ID was recovered and disposed of in a two kg tiffin at Kumhi Bhotali road. Police was also successful in recovering Naxalite literature in Jhilmali forest. In order to maintain trust and harmony among the rural tribals settled in Vanachal, under the civic action program and community policing in Naxalite-affected villages, sports goods, agricultural equipment are being distributed to the villagers, and traditional sports competitions are also organized, in which the villagers And the security force personnel compete with each other.

Unique experiments on transportation system

To bring the traffic system back on track, the District Police launched the Challan Nahi Samadhan Abhiyan from 24 April 22 to make the general public aware. During this, 1 thousand 32 licenses, 360 insurance, repair of documents of 602 vehicles and eye test of 98 vehicle drivers were conducted by organizing camps at 60 places. Apart from this, 395 number plates were made on the spot and fitted in the vehicles. The villagers were informed about the law and its provisions by setting up mobile police stations at 135 places. Appreciating this effort of the police, the people openly said that the police is eradicating the problem from the root by giving the solution as a solution and not as a punishment. In view of the apprehension of accident due to gathering of stray cattle in smooth movement, more than 500 cattle were made to wear radium belts, due to which the percentage of death in accident decreased, whereas there was a decrease of 70 percent due to injury.

CCTV of the district was introduced

To ensure the identity of the criminals, on the initiative of the police, 85 cc TV cameras have been installed in houses, shops and square intersections. Around two hundred children were taught karate for self-defense by trained experts under Swalamban scheme for security. For welfare activities, free tuition was given to police personnel and fifty children from poor sections under the Udaan scheme. In the district, 65 WhatsApp beats have been created and more than four thousand have been added to it so that rumors can be controlled and peace can be restored before time in case of communal frenzy. Information about laws and rules is being given through the group, due to which, to a large extent, action is being taken on receiving information about domestic violence, drug addiction, gambling and betting.

Campaign against social evils appreciated

The district police is working to give a concrete shape to the concept of strong women and strong society by setting up separate women’s desks in police stations and outposts. Under the guidance of Police Captain Ankita Sharma, along with public awareness campaign against social evils, legal action is being taken under various sections against those who do not agree even after persuasion. Bond over action was taken against 260 including eight cases of 109, thirteen of 110, 244 of 151, 1089 of 107-116-3 and 13 cases of 145 after the formation of the district regarding crime control. Action has been taken on 507 cases of Excise Act, 95 cases of Gambling Act and 101 cases of betting. Online character verification facility has been made available for jobs and other works. Overall, under the guidance of Police Captain Ankita Sharma regarding peace and security in the district, the image of a police friend is being seen in real form.
