Bemetara. Devuthani Ekadashi was organized in Government Primary School, Saigona, Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh. On this occasion, school students decorated rangoli, lit lamps, decorated Tulsi Chaura with flowers and balloons, chanted mantras, sang bhajans and worshiped Tulsi Mai. On this occasion, teacher Himakalyani Sinha narrated the story of Devuthani Ekadashi and Tulsi Vivah and told about them that Tulsi is worshiped on Shukla Paksha Tithi Ekadashi of Kartik month, Tulsi’s name was earlier Vrinda. Her husband’s name was Jalandhar.
Vrinda was devoted to her husband and Jalandhar became more powerful due to Punya Pratap. Due to which he used to torture the gods and sages. Teacher Him Kalyani Sinha narrated the entire story to the children till Tulsi Vivah and asked the students to plant Tulsi sapling. Fasting on Ekadashi is very virtuous. Children were made aware of the importance of donating and the names of Ekadashi of the twelve months. On this occasion, teacher Himkalyani Sinha distributed ties and belts to the children and distributed bhog prasad. Sunita Verma, Babita Dhruve, Neema Verma, Laxmin Sinha, Pirendra Verma along with principal reader Lekhram Verma had contributed in making this program successful.
