Husband will give two lakhs for maintenance of wife, then divorce will happen

In another case in the Commission, a woman living in her maternal home due to a family dispute has appealed to her husband to return all the items given as dowry. During the hearing of this case, the woman told that after marriage, her husband used to misbehave with her, due to which she is upset and is living at her maternal home. The woman demanded the Commission to return all the items given to her husband as dowry. The Commission then conducted counseling between the two parties, after which the non-applicant agreed to return the entire item. The Commission also tried to bring about reconciliation between the two during the hearing, but both of them were not ready for this and talked about getting a divorce. On this, the Commission ruled that before taking divorce, the applicant will have to pay two lakh rupees in lump sum for the maintenance of the woman.
