Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reached Sarkheda village in Aundhi to attend the funeral of BJP leader Birjhu Taram after he was killed by Naxalites in Mohla-Manpur, Chhattisgarh. Former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh paid tribute to the deceased BJP leader Birju Taram by covering him with the BJP flag and consoled the family.

20 hours after the incident, former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya reached Sarkheda village in Aundhi and his body was taken for cremation. During this period, the entire village has been converted into a police cantonment by the police. The deceased BJP leader Birju Taram of the village was issued a warning by the Naxalites. Regarding this, the Maoist organization had also issued a pamphlet threatening to kill him. Despite warnings from Naxalites, the police did not take any action. Birjhu Taram had to bear the brunt of police negligence with his life. The family members and villagers are calling the incident a target killing and are demanding a compensation of Rs 50 lakh, a government job for one of the family members and a CBI investigation into the entire matter.
