Villagers including Mahesh Lakda, Omprakash, Lakshmi Pankra, Imlavati, Rugi, Ramnivas, Sukalpati, Santi, Gauri, Asha, Sonmati, Bhuneshwar, Govind Jangalram, Hazarilal, Visunamuni, of village Chiranga, who reached the district in hundreds, told that in village Chiranga Ration shop is being operated by Maa Mahamaya Food Nutrition Security Committee. Due to carelessness on the part of its operator, ration distribution has not been done for the last 3 months in March-April and May. Along with this, the rice of ration card holders has been grabbed by black marketing of rice, sugar and gram. While supplying food on behalf of the ration shop operator, 763 card holders were handed over only 20 kg of rice. When the villagers demanded ration from the operator, it was told that there was a shortage in the ration. While Food Minister Amarjit Bhagat has repeatedly said that no villager in the area will go hungry. Food officer assured to give ration within 2 days
In this regard, Batauli’s Food Officer Rajendra Kashyap said that 110 quintals of ration was sorted by the previously operated Milan Self Help Group, which was earlier asked to be compensated through notice. Due to this till date, due to the shortage of ration, the distribution of ration is not being done properly.
