Administration empty even after 38 days, illegal gutkha factory running in Mandirhasaud

Raipur News: The hands of the Food and Drug Administration are empty even after 38 days in the case of illegal gutkha factory running in the closed building of Mandir Hasaud. He has not yet received the report of the banned Gutkha samples, nor has there been any inquiry from the operator in this matter. The case was related to a factory worth about one and a half crores.

On the night of May 30, a team of the Food and Drug Administration raided a closed building in Mandir Hasaud and caught a banned gutkha manufacturing factory. Here a large quantity of gutkha was prepared and sent to the market daily for consumption. During the raid, a large number of laborers from other states were caught there. The workers were released the next day, but the supervisor who absconded from the factory could not be traced.

After taking a sample of Gutkha and sending it for investigation, a long time was spent in the name of locating the factory owner. According to sources, even after 38 days of the raid, the investigation team has not been able to get the report of gutkha samples from the lab and for this reason the operator of the gutkha factory has not been questioned till now. The name of the operator of this illegal gutkha factory has also not been revealed by the Food Department team. During the raid, goods worth about 1.5 crore were seized there.

During the raid in the gutkha factory, a lot of commotion was created by the team of Food and Drug Administration. After this, the investigation started getting delayed citing various procedural problems. After the action, during the investigation of the episode, there was also talk of creating pressure on the team in various ways to cool down the matter.

In the name of a well-known company, Gutkha was prepared here by betel nut, catechu, tobacco and other substances and was also packed in pouches. Gutkha worth lakhs of rupees was taken out daily from the factory. The departmental team could not even find out that in the name of which agency and in which area the gutkha was being consumed.
