Since the release of the results of the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, the administration has started taking action against illegal encroachers in many districts of the state including the capital Raipur. The district administration has also come into alert mode in Balodabazar. After giving the ultimatum, the district administration has started using bulldozers on the illegal encroachment.
On Monday evening, a joint team of Municipal Corporation Revenue and Police Department removed the encroachments in the surrounding areas including the illegal tasting center located on Risda Road in the city. Along with this, instructions were given to all the shopkeepers to remove the shops of Mutton Market located in the main vegetable market of the city within 24 hours and shift to the proposed new Mutton Market. After which the administration took action this morning and evacuated the mutton market. Due to fear of action, the remaining traders themselves started removing their tapra. Many traders say that the administration has started demolition without any ultimatum.
Strict action will continue
CMO Bhola Singh Thakur has said that the encroached places have been identified. Strict action will be taken continuously in the coming 2-3 days. Collector Chandan Kumar has just instructed the officials of the urban bodies to take strict action against encroachment and this information should be given to the district office through prescribed medium.
