Loksabha Election 2024: Before the Loksabha Election to be held next year, all the political parties have gathered with full vigor. Taking a major step in this series, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has invited Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan for the meeting on July 18. BJP national president JP Nadda has written a letter to Paswan describing LJP as an important part of the saffron party-led NDA. This meeting will be held during the opposition meeting in Bengaluru on 17th July.

What did JP Nadda write in the letter

Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president JP Nadda wrote in the letter that the NDA meeting has been decided to be held on Tuesday, July 18 at 5 pm at the Ashok Hotel in New Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister Modi. Also, he said that Chirag Paswan is cordially invited in this meeting. Your role as an important partner of NDA and your cooperation not only strengthens the alliance but also the development journey of the country.

Why does BJP want Chirag’s support

The grip and influence that Chirag has on the votes of Dalits in Bihar politics and Paswan in that too, is not that of his uncle Pashupati Paras, who broke five MPs and formed a new party. The Bharatiya Janata Party is also well aware of this fact. Chirag Paswan’s LJP wants to keep good relations with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, he has also put some conditions while forging an alliance.

According to media reports, there are about 16 percent Dalit voters in the state and about 6 percent of these are with Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan. LJP had performed very well in the last two Lok Sabha elections. The party had won 6 seats in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Along with this, the Bharatiya Janata Party is deciding this strategy. If Chirag Paswan’s party joins hands, then it is expected to get benefit in the Lok Sabha elections.
